SASROSRC Emergency Response Platform

Project

For the South Asia Co-operative Environment Programme (SACEP), Amplitude delivered the South Asian Regional Oil and Chemical Spill Response Centre (SASROSRC) network. Established in 1982 by South Asian governments, SACEP promotes environmental protection and management across the region. Amplitude was approached to facilitate a joint effort between member countries and the United Kingdom to develop a sophisticated platform for emergency coordination and regional environmental safeguarding.

Process

Our approach focused on creating a dynamic, active platform capable of driving coordinated responses to oil and chemical spills. By working closely with SACEP, we ensured the technology met the high-stakes requirements of a multi-government emergency response network.

The SASROSRC platform was designed to be more than a simple database; it is a collaborative ecosystem for experts across South Asia. To achieve this, we developed several core components:

  • Custom Forum Systems: A dedicated environment where assets, long-standing discussions, and incident reports are posted and shared across the entire network to ensure consistent communication during emergencies.
  • Member Directory: A searchable database allowing users to quickly identify and contact specific experts to gather technical insights and field-specific advice.
  • Comprehensive Resources Library: A central repository where users can instantly access essential documentation, research, and technical resources on specific environmental subjects.
  • Feature-Rich Public Website: A bespoke front-end site designed to communicate the mission of the network and highlight the involvement of multiple governments and international partners.

The platform serves as a vital tool in bringing together a vast network of experts and resources. By streamlining how these groups communicate and share data, the SASROSRC network significantly enhances the region’s ability to coordinate and prevent future environmental disasters. It was a privilege to work with SACEP on a project that provides a tangible platform for environmental protection across South Asia.
